COVID-19 Update
OzHarvest has announced the postponement of its flagship fundraising event the CEO CookOff, due to take place at Sydney’s Carriageworks on Monday 30 March 2020. In the wake of the ongoing public health threat from the Coronavirus.
A message from Ronni: “I am heartbroken that for the first time in nine years that we will not be able to host this magical event for our special guests in March. But after considering many factors and consulting with those close to the event, the decision was made to postpone until a time when the worst is over and we can come together to celebrate the power of community….”

What is the CEO CookOff?
Since its inception in 2012, the CEO CookOff has enriched the lives of 9,000 vulnerable guests and 1,000 of Australia’s top business leaders. In the lead up to the event our CEOs and chefs raise funds in support of OzHarvest, with the goal of raising $3 million, which will provide 6 million meals to people going without all around Australia.
On the night, participants are grouped into teams and paired with celebrated chefs from Australia’s top kitchens. Each team prepares a meal under the guidance of their chef and serves up those beautiful meals to our wonderful guests. As a participant, it is an opportunity to share a meal with a community that you would not often have an opportunity to break bread with.

How fundraising supports OzHarvest
The CEO CookOff is our flagship fundraising event which underpins our food rescue operations and allows us to support 1,500 charities across Australia every day. This unique event offers the opportunity for business leaders to take action, lead with purpose and see the direct impact of the funds raised by connecting with our guests, whilst serving delicious food and delivering a night of hope and dignity.

Tonight is an extra special occasion! It’s lots of fun and we get to see celebrities from the tv – up close! The clients had never been before and were really excited about it.” Cecilia from Cook Islands has come with a group of charity clients. She is wearing a traditional head dress, an ei’ katu, worn on special occasions.

“
The meal was the best thing I’ve ever had! And to see so many people just giving the time of day to people who struggle, who live on the streets...I’m just so grateful.” Sarah had never been to the CEO CookOff and was quite overwhelmed by the whole experience.

“
I think the biggest value for me personally is sitting down and spending time talking to people who have had challenging circumstances in your life. You don’t realise how small gestures, in times of loneliness and despair, just resonate so much more.
