Team Building with Soul and Purpose!
If you’ve been searching for a team building with a difference, then look no further. OzHarvest’s Cooking for a Cause is a hands-on cooking class open to groups of all sizes. Led by our phenomenal OzHarvest chefs, corporate teams get busy in the kitchen transforming rescued surplus food into restaurant quality meals that are then delivered directly to local disadvantaged communities.
Beyond cooking a range of cuisines, our chefs will tell the unique story of how OzHarvest began in 2004, and how it has grown to influence environmental, social and educational decisions in Australia today. ‘Wasting food wastes everything’ including fuel, water and labour hours – so naturally there is a heavy focus on sustainability in everything that OzHarvest does.
We ask all visiting teams to BYO water bottle and coffee cup, and utilise our specified bin system as they cook.
In addition to bonding over scrumptious tastings and learning useful cooking tips from a pro, this half day experience will leave a beautiful memory in the hearts and minds of your team, taking away the fulfilment of making a difference with beautiful nourishing food that will allow those less fortunate to eat with dignity.

- 4 hours, as above PLUS a delicious three course seated lunch or dinner to follow.
- $257.50 per person ($175.00pp tax deductible in the same way as making a donation) ($82.50 (including GST per person) sit down meal)

CEO CookOff is OzHarvest’s flagship fundraising event where the country’s top CEOs and Managing Directors swap the boardroom for aprons and chopping boards, teaming up with Australia’s top chefs to raise money and produce a delicious dinner for over a thousand vulnerable people.
This event would not be possible without our amazing corporate partners or the fantastic fundraising efforts of the CEOs and their supporters. In five years it has raised over $5 million allowing us to deliver 10 million meals to those in need and expand our nutrition, education and hospitality training programs.
Organise a Food Drive
Many of the charities that are recipients of our food have expressed a need for food items for hampers. Some of them deliver over 100 food hampers to families in need every month! Offices and workplaces can help us meet this need by running a food drive to collect non-perishable food items and donate them to OzHarvest.
All types of canned and packaged goods are welcome, but no perishable foods please and we can’t take any items that are packaged in glass.
To help us fight food waste, we need teamwork! There are lots of different ways to run a workplace challenge such as bringing in Leftover Lunches, Bake-Overs, Surplus Soup or Zero Waste Wednesdays.
