OzHarvest Port Macquarie

OzHarvest Port Macquaire
OzHarvest Port Macquarie was the first OzHarvest chapter. We were established in 2011 and we have been going strong ever since! Our lovely team has engaged with and fed so many Port locals over the years and we were delighted to recently reach our milestone of 50,000 kilos of rescued quality food in 2015. Our volunteers can be seen all over Port in their bright yellow t-shirts, collecting surplus from our local food business donors and growers for local charity meals. Since inception, OzHarvest Port Macquarie has been amazed at the generosity of these local businesses and their passion to not let good food go to waste. Our wonderful charity partners in Port and beyond now rely on these supplies to supplement their offering to their clients and community groups and we are truly excited to be part of this collaboration in making a difference. As we head towards our fifth birthday and continue to partner with local events such as with Tastings on Hastings and organisations like the Hastings Business Women’s Network, we hope to celebrate good food, better nutrition for all and sustainability with our many local supporters. If you would like to get involved we would love to include you in this rescued food party! It’s great fun and really rewarding and all about ‘the people of Port, helping the people of Port’. Can OzHarvest deliver food to individuals?

Unfortunately our drivers are unable to deliver food to personal or private residences. If you are looking for support, ASK IZZY can help you to find the services you need, now and nearby. It is free and anonymous, and you can search services to find food, housing, healthcare, counselling, legal advice, addiction treatment. You’ll just need to add your suburb and it will display results that are nearest.
