OzHarvest Southern Highlands

southern highlands childcare centre fundraising with a cookbook of family recipes

OzHarvest Southern Highlands is OzHarvest’s newest regional chapter, starting in August 2017! Begun by its coordinator, Ana Maria Salinas, who wanted to reduce the amount of food wasted in the Southern Highlands, the chapter collects surplus food from businesses like Woolworths and Harris Farm in Bowral and delivers it to a number of local organisations to help feed those in need.

Agencies like Wingecarribee Family Support Service and The Bowral Youth Refuge receive rescued food which allows the people they support to eat a variety of healthy food they might not otherwise have access to and helps the agencies save money which they can invest in other support services.

Can OzHarvest deliver food to individuals?

Unfortunately our drivers are unable to deliver food to personal or private residences. If you are looking for support, ASK IZZY can help you to find the services you need, now and nearby. It is free and anonymous, and you can search services to find food, housing, healthcare, counselling, legal advice, addiction treatment. You’ll just need to add your suburb and it will display results that are nearest.
