What is Nourish?
OzHarvest’s Nourish Program is a pathway to employment for at-risk youth aged 16 – 25 and it is absolutely FREE to participating students. OzHarvest has partnered with TAFE NSW in Sydney, Career Employment Group (CEG) in Adelaide and delivers the Nourish Program with the support of volunteers, mentors and qualified industry professionals.
OzHarvest is very excited to be launching the Nourish Program on the Gold Coast in July, 2017. This is the first time that Nourish has been run in Queensland and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to further expand around Australia. We have partnered with the Institute of Culinary Excellence to deliver the program on the Gold Coast.
How does Nourish work?
The course is designed as a stepping stone for participants into the hospitality industry. The Nourish Program covers a broad range of skills including basic cooking, nutrition, food safety, kitchen hygiene, communication, teamwork, resume writing and surviving job interviews — all of this leading to a nationally recognised qualification in the hospitality industry.
OzHarvest has an ever growing list of food donors and industry contacts who are willing to provide work experience and employment opportunities for Nourish participants who successfully complete the course. The Nourish Program is FREE for participating students.
How to get involved!
There are two intakes of students for the Nourish Program each year, one in each school year semester, enrolments are open in January and July. There are a limited amount of spaces in the class and we encourage any young people who are interested in attend to register their interest so that they do not miss out. Please contact the Nourish team at OzHarvest for further information or to register your interest for the next intake.

“OzHarvest has given me the opportunity to help further my studies and to develop better skills in hospitality through the Nourish Program. It was such a pleasure to come into class each time and being surrounded by a warm and friendly environment. I’m very thankful for the support and encouragement from the Oz Harvest family for a life changing opportunity.”
