OzHarvest is committed to helping vulnerable people by delivering delicious, nutritious food to charities across Australia that feed those in need.

Food Donors

We collect good quality surplus food from a network of donors including supermarkets, cafes, delis, hotels, airlines and restaurants, then deliver direct and free of charge to charities nationally.

Meals Delivered

Starting with one van in Sydney back in 2004, OzHarvest has grown to become a national charity. 160 million meals later, it was obviously a good idea!

Food

Feeding hungry people and stopping good food from going to waste underpins everything we do. In addition to our core food rescue operations, OzHarvest has introduced new emergency food relief services including; pop-up hamper hubs, food essentials boxes, cooked meals and mobile markets. Surplus food is also facilitated via The OzHarvest Food App in areas where our yellow vans can’t reach and two rescued food markets operate in Sydney’s Kensington and Waterloo based on a ‘take what you need, give if you can’ philosophy.

Volunteers

Volunteers, or the Yellow Army as we call them, are the heart of OzHarvest. Without the dedication and passion of so many people donating their precious time, skills, energy, muscles and brain power across the country, we would not be able to do what we do.

Education

Education is crucial if we want to enable positive change. Our education goal is to strengthen community connections, improve life skills and increase healthy eating and food waste awareness, with a range of programs to inspire primary school kids, ‘at risk’ youth and families in need.

Sustainability

Fighting food waste and protecting the planet guides our work in the sustainability sector. As leaders on this issue, our goal is to advocate, inspire and influence others to halve food waste by 2030, collaborating with industry and Government and raising awareness through our work.
