Use It Up Tape Impact Study

Latest research from BehaviourWorks Australia shows OzHarvest’s Use It Up Tape is a simple yet powerful solution in the fight against food waste. The latest study showed households using the tape reduced food waste by 40% and halved waste of fresh produce like fruit, veg, dairy and meat.

Use It Up tape is used to mark a shelf the fridge or pantry, or placed on food containers. It’s a visual reminder of what food needs using up and a versatile tool for reducing food waste in the home.

National Policy Agenda – Tackling Food Waste & Food Security

Food waste and food security are both national problems, inherently connected with huge social, economic and environmental implications. With the national target to halve food waste by 2030 looming fast, we believe Australia has an opportunity to lead the way on tackling both issues. This National Policy Agenda was adapted from OzHarvest’s submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry on Food Production and Supply in NSW.

Halving Household Food Waste – Which Behaviours Matter?

OzHarvest is committed to the goal of halving food waste in Australia by 2030 and identified an exciting opportunity to create a national behavioural change campaign to tackle food waste in Australian homes. To support an effective campaign, new research was required to better understand the complex nature of household food waste.

Collaborating with BehaviourWorks Australia, this research represents an innovative and pioneering approach to tackling the food waste challenge in Australia, using evidence-based decision-making to prioritise and diagnose consumer behaviours.

MSDI and OzHarvest Joint Report

collaborative report between Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI) and OzHarvest is urging national action if food waste is to be halved by 2030. The joint report Halving Food Waste: Australia’s progress on SDG 12.3 outlines the benefits of achieving this goal, the foundation work already undertaken and makes key recommendations for national action.
