Cooking for a Cause is a unique team building activity. Join OzHarvest chefs to learn zero-waste cooking skills, while transforming rescued ingredients into gourmet meals to support vulnerable communities. Corporate bookings now available.

How It Works

Led by the masters of zero-waste cooking, our chefs host teams of all sizes in the OzHarvest kitchens (or hired commercial kitchens). From learning how to chop an onion properly, to cooking root to stem – you’ll be inspired by this hands-on cooking session full of practical tips and tricks for you to apply at home. After creating delicious and nutritious meals, teams help pack the food ready for OzHarvest to deliver to local charities. The good news is there’s no washing up and you get to taste your culinary delights!

Cooking for a cause can be tailored to suit any group size and, in some locations, can be extended to include a sit down 3-course meal (ask us about Cooking for a Cause PLUS).  It’s fun and full of purpose as your impact can be seen immediately through the number of meals created – often well over 100 portions.  Above all, you’ll be helping us to ‘Nourish our Country.’


Bookings in New South Wales

Sydney

In Sydney we are able to accommodate small to medium sized groups for morning sessions (start 9am) and afternoon sessions (starts 1pm) on:

Thursdays (max 21pax over 2 kitchen spaces – 12pax in 1 kitchen and 9 pax in the other kitchen)
Fridays (max 9pax over 1 kitchen space) for morning and afternoon sessions (start 9am & start 1pm).

Cost: $175pp (GST Free).

Cooking at Home

Cooking at Home with OzHarvest is our virtual workshop that brings nutritious cooking right into your homes. Your team will have fun while learning pro cooking tips streamed live from the OzHarvest kitchen.

This is a hands-on class where one of our phenomenal chefs will guide your team through a recipe that you can then enjoy together at the end of the session. A truly unforgettable activity to re-enforce or reset your team dynamic, learn new skills, practice sustainability and spread a grateful spirit throughout your workplace.

Price: From $100 to $175pp ($175 includes fresh ingredients box).

Cooking For A Cause in Brisbane is currently being held in the heart of fresh produce, The Fresh Centre Kitchen within the Rocklea Markets precinct. Against a backdrop of the hustle and bustle of the market, your team will create amazing results in the on-site commercial kitchen!

Group size: 8 to 16 people (maximum)
