Food Rescue For Charities

OzHarvest is committed to feeding those in need, especially during the global pandemic (COVID-19). Food rescue remains in operation, supported by additional health and safety measures for our drivers, food donors and charitable recipients.

How it works

Do you need food to support your community? Well, OzHarvest is here to help, either with rescued food via our yellow vans or we’ll help you get the information you need. If you are interested in our support, please fill out the form below. This will give us all the information we need to know about your organisation.

Our team will then be in touch with next steps! We apologise in advance if we add you to our wait list. We are doing everything we can to get to you and support your programs, and will be in touch as soon as something opens up. Demand on our services is huge and our ability to begin the service depends on a variety of factors.

Essentially, when we have enough excess food donations being offered on a regular basis in your area and that matches your needs then food rescue can commence.

No. Unfortunately we are not set up logistically to assist individuals. We are happy to recommend an agency near you that we service where you might be able to seek food relief. Please search for food relief in your area, by clicking here.

Technically no. However, we do require basic infrastructure to be in place so you can ensure food safety and a fair and balanced delivery of food to the people you support.

Fruit, vegetables, cooked meals, sandwiches, bakery items, bread, drinks, canned foods/dry stock, dairy.

Volumes of food will depend upon daily availability.

No. As food we have available is the food offered by donors on any given day, specific foods cannot be requested. Additionally, due to ongoing commitments, our food rescue operations cannot cater to events or provide ad hoc food donations. In order to maximise the benefit to the community, we match food available to agencies that have consistent and regular food relief programmes only.

Yes. You will need boxes/crates onsite to transfer the food into.

We currently have regular services based in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Wagga Wagga, Toowoomba, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Central Coast, Sapphire Coast (South and North) Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Cairns. Our OzHarvest Food App which connects food donors and agencies in need of food relief directly is now also live and available around the country!
