Food Rescue
OzHarvest WA has grown quickly and is making a big impact delivering around 80,000 meals each week since its inception in late 2014. Our Perth based team has eight yellow vans on the road which collect over 135,000kgs of surplus food a month from local food donors across Perth and the Greater Metropolitan area.
In July 2023, OzHarvest WA opened an additional hub in Mandurah thanks to the generosity of a private philanthropist.
Nourishing Our Schools Program
Our Nourishing Our Schools program tackles children’s food insecurity both in schools and at home. The program currently provides 105 school communities across Perth with vital food relief and consists of Food for Learning (food rescue for schools’ breakfast, lunch and cooking programs) and Food for Thriving (non-perishable hamper boxes).
OzHarvest has been fortunate to receive incredible support and funding for our Nourishing Our Schools Program through the Channel 7 Telethon Trust.
Volunteer
OzHarvest WA has over 200 volunteers who share their skills, time, energy and hearts to boost the work we do.
Volunteer activities include (but are not limited to): assisting with food rescue in our yellow vans, helping out with events and Cooking for a Cause classes, hamper packing and distribution and container washing!

Cooking for a Cause
OzHarvest’s Cooking for a Cause is a hands-on cooking class open to corporate groups. Led by our talented OzHarvest chefs, teams get busy in the kitchen transforming rescued ingredients into gourmet meals, which then get delivered to local charities.
Cooking for a Cause sessions run for approximately 2.5 hours on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays.
Cost: $205 p/person – tax deductible.
Catering
We now offer delicious, gourmet, zero-waste inspired catering for events, functions, or parties across various locations! Crafted by OzHarvest chefs, our catering menus are vegetarian to help protect our planet and use only sustainably sourced ingredients. Every booking helps keep our wheels turning and enables us to feed more people in need.
FEAST
FEAST (Food Education and Sustainability Training) is a curriculum-aligned education program for primary and high schools, which explores the issue of food waste and its environmental impact, healthy eating and easy classroom cooking.
Like any good FEAST, it’s designed to be fun, engaging and filled with good food!

Food Drive
Feeding people in need lies at the heart of OzHarvest’s mission and this year has been one of the toughest as the demand for food continues to soar. Across Perth, we’re currently supporting 238 charities and schools with rescued food every week and over 50% tell us they need more food to meet the current demand.
