Nourishing Our Schools

OzHarvest’s Nourishing Our Schools program tackles children’s food insecurity both in schools and at home across Perth. Schools can register for both programs - School Essential Boxes and Community Essential Boxes.

Schools Essentials Boxes

The Schools Essential boxes is aimed at vulnerable individual students, addressing children’s food insecurity within the school environment during school hours.

OzHarvest will work closely to meet the requirements of each school and the number of students requiring food relief through the different programs. Each school will be offered a minimum of two boxes (20 kilograms of food) each week.

Food supplies will be tailored to meet the needs of the school programs where possible and may include, fruits, vegetables, bread, cereal, yoghurt, spreads and healthy snacks.

Community Essentials Boxes

The Community Essentials Boxes is aimed at vulnerable families in the school community, addressing children’s food insecurity from the home environment outside of school hours.

Each school will receive up to 100 Community Boxes over a year to distribute to families within the school community as needed.

Food supplies will look to meet diverse cultural and dietary needs, and may include fruit and vegetables; bread; cereal; canned goods; milk and yoghurt.

Once you have registered your interest, your response will be sent to the OzHarvest WA team. We will then be in contact to discuss the program, and more detailed questions. Our office is open Monday to Friday (7:30am to 4:30pm), please allow up to 2 business days for us to contact you.
