A harvested farewell… for now!
by OzAdmin
OzHarvest’s pop up food waste harvested cafe in Pyrmont has closed for now. Join OzHarvest for the last harvested dinner with Diego Munoz.
As we near the end of July, our special (and limited) time at harvested pop-up café in Pyrmont has sadly come to an end, with our last lunch service this week.
It’s been a joy sharing beautiful rescued meals with you all at harvested pop-up café in Pyrmont in our journey to educate the public about food security, reducing food waste, as well as sharing with you all the work that we do in feeding vulnerable Australians.
Every guest who chose to dine at harvested has helped us deliver another 30 meals to vulnerable Aussies.
Together, thanks to every one of our supporters who dined with us, we are able to deliver thousands more meals. We thank you for helping us nourish those in need.
We were able to open harvested thanks to our fabulous partner City West Housing who donated the space.
Without doubt, harvested could not have happened without our fabulous Chef for a Cause Travis Harvey and his assistant chefs who created beautiful meals out of produce otherwise destined-for-landfill. Our wonderful team of volunteers led by our front-of-house superstar Sophie, week-to-week were behind the friendly service and smiles.
Thanks to our regular customers who made it a weekly mission to dine with us at harvested, we hope to see you down the track!
This week, as Chef Trav busily prepares thousands of meals for our Think.Eat.Save with the help of kitchen elves, Chef Jed took the reins of harvested and served up the final lunches together with our incredible volunteer team, until we “pop-up” somewhere near you down the track!!
If you missed out on lunch at harvested, please join us for a FREE lunch from 11.30am – 2.30pm on Monday, 27 July at Martin Place and around the country for our national Think.Eat.Save event.
Or join us for a special finale dinner at harvested on Wednesday, 29 July where top chef, Diego Munoz, from Lima’s No. 14 Best Restaurant in the World, Astrid Y Gaston and Chef Trav will be cooking up a delectable meal inspired by the flavours of South America with a food-rescue twist! All proceeds go to OzHarvest.
Chef Fouad’s exquisite pop-up restaurant Baraka will remain open for dinner until the end of August. To make a booking visit https://barakaoz.com.au/
Of course you can keep up to date and stay tuned on other OzHarvest initiatives and potential pop-ups by following us on facebook, twitter or Instagram or by signing up to our newsletter at www.ozharvest.org
