Last September, we welcomed OXO Australia to the OzHarvest family as an Awesome Partner.  Their support helps both our food relief efforts and education programs.

OXO is a proud member of 1% for the Planet, where businesses commit 1% of annual sales to support environmental non-profit organisations. OXO specifically supports organisations in the areas of environmental education, sustainable food systems, and cleaner air, land and water.

Indigo Teiwes, Associate Director and Corporate Responsibility at OXO Australia, says the organisation is excited to support OzHarvest. “Through our 1% to the Planet commitment, we have already helped OzHarvest deliver 280,000 meals to people in need across Australia, which is more than 93,300 kilograms of food diverted from landfill.  OXO kitchen products are designed to make everyday life a little bit better and we are thrilled to see them put to good use across OzHarvest’s educational programs, NEST and FEAST.”

Elisha West, OzHarvest’s National NEST Program Manager, said being able to use quality cooking equipment in NEST classes made the world of difference. “The OXO products are fantastic and definitely make cooking easy! The NEST participants love the balloon whisks for making Spanish omelettes and the spatulas are great when they make fritters, plus we save valuable program funding by not having to buy them!“

Amelia Berner, OzHarvest’s FEAST Education Manager, said that the products also go towards supporting schools that participate in our FEAST program. “We are extremely grateful to be able to share OXO products with some FEAST schools to support them continuing their journey to fight food waste and live a sustainable life. OXO’s small compost bin is a great addition for students cooking in the classroom setting, it encourages them to start composting food scraps.”
