Ham and Prawn Dumplings

These ham and prawn dumplings are a tasty use it up recipe that transforms leftover Christmas ham and prawns into flavourful parcels. Rather than letting those Boxing Day leftovers sit in your fridge, you can use them. Simply, blitz ham into a paste and combine with chopped prawns, shallots, and fresh coriander. The addition of soy sauce and your choice of garnishes levels up these ham and prawn dumplings! So, when you’ve got containers of holiday ham and cooked prawns taking up space, give this recipe a go.

Need

250g of leftover ham, blitzed into a paste

10 Cooked king prawns, peeled and chopped

Shallots, finely chopped 

Fresh coriander, chopped 

1 Egg 

Store bought wonton wrappers 

Sesame oil & soy sauce 

Dumpling sauce, to serve 

How

1. Blitz the leftover ham into a smooth paste. 

2.Chop the cooked prawns, shallots, and coriander. 

3.In a bowl, combine the ham, prawns, shallots, coriander, a dash of sesame oil, soy sauce, and an egg.

4.Place a spoonful of the mixture onto each wonton wrapper and seal the edges with a little water. 

5.Boil the dumplings for 5 minutes, until cooked through. 

6.Serve with a drizzle of soy sauce, chilli oil or black vinegar if you have it. You can also garnish with sesame seeds, sliced shallots, coriander or whatever soft herbs you have that need using up.
