OzHarvest Sunshine Coast started in August 2014 and operates as far north as Gympie, down the Coast and into the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We deliver around 6,800 meals a week to charities, schools, community centres, youth programs, churches and other organisations helping address the needs of vulnerable community members.
OzHarvest Sunshine Coast is fully volunteer led. With over 80 volunteers, we are able to have a substantial reach in our community in terms of scale and scope. If you are interested in volunteering with OzHarvest Sunshine Coast, please click the button below.
Our Education Outreach Program is key to raising awareness with school-age children and young adults about food and sustainability. Our tailored presentations to pre-school through to secondary school students demonstrate that we can all be food waste warriors and in the process, help reduce food waste at home and in our community.
FEAST (Food Education and Sustainability Training) is a curriculum aligned national OzHarvest program aimed at year 5 and 6 students. FEAST runs for 7-10 weeks and is a STEM project-based learning program focusing on food and sustainability. The teacher-led program can be adapted and changed to suit your school’s needs.
Like any good FEAST, it’s designed to be fun, engaging and filled with good food.
